Dear Arianna, February 16, 2013

NB.  Mommy continues her guest writing.  Daddy has been very busy this weekend with work on Saturday and school and Sunday.

Dear Arianna,
Today is going to be your Abue's Birthday Party and there are tons of things to do.  Mommy took a shower while we were still in bed lounging.  She needed to get ready soon so she could go to Party City and pick some decorations for the party, and then to Target to buy some sodas, chips, and maybe if she could find something nice for Abue (besides her main gift -which I'll write when we get to the gift's section). Mommy asked you if you wanted to go to the store, and you said yes at first, then you changed your mind.  So, she gave you a kiss on your cheek and left to do the errands that she needed to do.  But before she left, I forgot to say that she cleaned the house...
In the meantime, you were watching some My Little Pony while Daddy had to work (from home, at least).  Mommy was happy that she found a dress that Abue will like and other things, but she needed to continue with some cleaning and we needed to go pick the food as well.  We ordered from Famous Dave's.  Abue loves that place, and it was not a bad deal.
Everyone came around 4:30 pm., and we attacked the food.  I think the brisket was gone withing 10-20 minutes, but we had everything else: Georgia's Shredded pork, Ribs, chicken, rib tips, cornbread, corn, beans, and coleslaw. We were so stuffed. We ended up waiting a little bit before we could cut the cake.  And since we have two very distinct sections when it comes to cake, Mommy bought 2 - one chocolate, one vanilla.  This made everyone happy.  No one was in the mood for coffee, but we had some tea.
We sang to Abue, and she blew the candles.  She got some money from us, and your Titi.  We also got her the polka-dot dress, hand cream, body wash, dark chocolates, and macaroons.  Tiffiney (your mommy's friend) gave her a nice watch. All in all, it was a nice get together.  It was so laid back, that somehow it became a "nail polish party" as well. All the girls (including your Abue, and mommy) ended up doing their nails.

Famous Dave's All American Buffet that feeds 4-6 people. :)

We hang shining strings that said "Happy 60th Birthday" all over the living and dining room.

Grandma (Abue) loves her grand kids. Not the best light, but everyone was happy.

Abue was very happy that we celebrated her birthday.

 And she loved her cake.

Portillo's cake was a hit, but everyone was stuffed.

Singing Happy Birthday.  Ari, you sung beautifully...

Abue is cutting her cake. Hopefully she remember to think about her wish...

Abue opened all her present.

It was getting late by now, and everyone was full and tired.  So, they left and we just hit our bed.  We were so tired... Can you see that all 5 cats were tired as well?
It was a beautiful day!

Love,
Mommy
